HIB Law Update: 2025-2026 (A TMI-NJPSA/LEGAL ONE Collaborative Workshop)

Participants will learn about major changes in state and federal statutes, regulations, guidance and case law that have a major impact on implementing New Jersey's Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights. This will include a review of new case law regarding parental, student and staff rights, and the intersection of bullying and special education. Participants will also consider how to respond to growing trends regarding hate crimes and emerging forms of discrimination. Finally, participants will gain an understanding of the ever-evolving use of social media to engage in cyberbullying, artificial intelligence and the need for students AND staff members to understand social media boundaries.
